Musician & Composer

Stella Kaplan is a multi-instrumentalist (primarily bass, mandolin, and guitar) and film/media composer in Los Angeles. A 2022 graduate of Berklee College of Music, she plays a wide range of styles (rock, pop, r&b, classical, Celtic, jazz, choro, and more) in various bands and as a solo artist.

 

She has gigged at events, festivals, and venues including The Whisky a Go Go, The Troubadour, The Viper Room, Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame, Third Man Records, MoPop Festival, Tucson Jazz Festival, Crystal Ballroom, Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, Doug Fir Lounge, Pickathon, and elsewhere.


She also does session work, wrote and released a Celtic album on primalhouse music, was a co-composer on the Emmy-winning score for Season 1 of Percy Jackson & The Olympians on Disney+ and the documentary Mall Town (2025), and was a composer’s assistant to Mark Orton on A Simple Machine (2025), On Swift Horses (2024), and Miss You, Love You (forthcoming). Raised in Portland, OR, she is currently Music Director at School of Rock Woodland Hills. She is a Queen fanatic for the ages.
